The National Logistics Academy is proud to be chosen by Talent in Logistics to host their LGV Driver of the year 2020 competition, at its headquarters in Manchester on Monday 14th September.
From supplying PPE and medical resources to the NHS; to ensuring supermarket shelves are stocked; LGV drivers are the heartbeat of the logistics industry and play a critical role in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and in keeping the country afloat.
The National Logistics Academy and Talent in Logistics have worked diligently to ensure that this competition can go ahead; ensuring all competitors and judges are kept safe and in line with the government guidelines. For both organisations, seeing the competition go-ahead is a fantastic way to celebrate the skills and professionalism of the nation’s drivers.
Paul Wilde (Director) from The National Logistics Academy said:
“It’s an honour for the Academy to host this event. We have been working closely with Talent in Logistics to implement appropriate infection control measures to ensure the day can be safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.”
The shortlisted competitors will attend the one-day competition at the Academy’s LGV training and test centre in Manchester, where they will embark on a number of challenges to test their professionalism and safe driving skills. All drivers who take part in the event will then be invited to attend the free online awards ceremony on the 1st October, where the winner will be announced!
