New Apprenticeships

In light of the recently released government grants surrounding apprenticeships, many of you have been asking how to claim it. This article will break it down and give you some useful webpages along the way. 

As we mentioned in our previous article you can claim up to £4000 for taking on an Apprentice, however, you cannot claim it yet. From the 1st of September, you will be able to claim your grant. Here are just some of the rules that are attached to it:

• Access funding for the apprentice’s training and assessment
• Claim the additional payment which will be paid to you directly
• To receive an incentive payment for hiring a new apprentice, you must use the apprenticeship service
• You can hire an apprentice who has been made redundant, as long as they are new to your business
• You can use the apprenticeship service to claim incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice from 1st September 2020 
• You must claim any incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice by the end of 30 April 2021
  
  

Traineeship Incentives

The Traineeship incentives will be both paid by the learning provider. 

• The new £1000 incentive will be paid by the learning provider (from 1st September),
• The £1000 for taking on a 16-18-year-old apprentice will also still be paid

Apprenticeship Incentives 

The new apprenticeship grants will apply to the apprentices that start between 1st August and 31st January. The instalments will be paid at 90 days and 365 days. 

• £2000 for an apprentice under 25
• £1500 for an apprentice an older apprentice
